If you are struggling lock/unlock HP 8460 series laptops, here is the way to solve it.
If you keenly observe top-left corner of your laptop touch pad, there is a small area with dot or LED indicator, by double-tap on the dot, you can lock/unlock the touch pad. If the light is off means touch pad is active.
